Vlogging Tips
Vlogging is an actual word on dictionary.com. It basically stands for video logging. So instead of just typing in your words to tell your story, you can actually add videos to tell your story or to compliment the story you’ve written. Either way, vlogging is becoming as popular as blogging in general.
I recently attended Wordcamp Atlanta 2010. One class I attended was “The Secrets of Mobile Vlogging” by Amani Channel. Amani has broadcasting education and experience and shared some tips on vlogging with us. Although he uses video to provide a news information of source of something, you can use videos to help you sell your homes.
Here’s what I learned about video logging:
- Plan your video process.
- Get an idea of what you want to shoot, where, etc
- This is referred to as preproduction.
- Shoot the video.
- This is referred to as production.
- Make sure you have these 3 things when shooting the video:
- Lighting
- Tripod
- Connection to an external microphone
- Edit the video
- This is referred to as post production
- Programs for editing your video:
- Windows Movie Maker (Free on PC)
- iMovie (Free on Mac)
- Pinnacle
- Final Cut Express / Pro
- Adobe Premier
- Compress
- Compressing your video is a must for posting to the internet.
- Free software: mpeg stream clip
- Distribute Online
- Free places to distribute online videos
- YouTube.com
- Zipvo.com
- Facebook.com
- Homeumentary.com
- RealeFlix.com
- Realestateshot.com
- Blip
- Vimeo
Good luck with your Vlogging!
